Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda is a stunning rainforest reserve known for its endangered mountain gorillas and scenic volcanic peaks. As part of the Virunga Massif, it offers unforgettable gorilla trekking, as well as sightings of golden monkeys and rich birdlife. Established in 1925, it’s Africa’s oldest national park and also the resting place of Dian Fossey, the famed gorilla researcher. With its misty forests and dramatic landscape, the park offers a unique mix of wildlife, nature, and conservation history.
