Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania, is a small but picturesque park known for its remarkable variety of landscapes and wildlife. Just a short drive from Arusha town, the park features lush rainforests, the scenic Momella Lakes, and the dramatic Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as the “mini Ngorongoro.”

Though it lacks large predators, Arusha is rich in wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, and the rare black-and-white colobus monkeys. The lakes attract a wide range of birdlife, making it a favorite for birdwatchers. Unique activities like walking safaris, canoe excursions, and Mount Meru treks set this park apart, offering a peaceful and immersive experience at the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
